Students can authorize access to a third party, such as a parent, to view certain student information pertaining to Financial Aid, Academic Records, Student Account and Personal information.

This authorization is based on your student's consent for you to view specific on-line information and is not equivalent to a third-party release of information covered by the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

 

The Parent/Family Authorization option allows a student to authorize access to a 3rd party to view certain student information. This authorization provides access to the designee to view Treasurer's Office, Financial Aid, Academic Records and Personal Information.

Access Parent Center

1. Open your web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari using the Private Window/Incognito Window.

2. Type uaconnect.uark.edu in the browser's internet address field.

3. Click myConnect.

4. On the Sign In page, enter your Microsoft Access user id or your complete email address identified by your student to set up your access and click Next.

5. Enter your Microsoft password and click Sign In. To reset your Microsoft password, click on the Forgot my password link on the Enter password page.

NOTE: Changing your password for Parent Access will change the password for all Microsoft associated accounts.

Overview of Parent Center

Click the UA Parent Homepage tile to open UA Parent Center. The left side menu options indicate the areas your student has granted you authorization to see. The central screen displays the students who have authorized you to see their account information.

1. Click the Select Student button for the student's account you wish to view. NOTE: Each student listed may have authorized different access to you. This page refreshes each time you select a student and displays the access you were given.

It is important to note that the access granted to you, through the Parent Center, is based on your student's consent for you to view specific on-line information and is not equivalent to a third-party release of information covered by the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Your student must complete a FERPA 3rd Party Release form that allows the University to discuss items covered by FERPA with you.

 The following instructions are only required during initial setup.

1. A Microsoft Invitation will be emailed to the email address entered by your student. The subject line will read "You're invited to the University of Arkansas organization".

2. Open the email containing the Microsoft Invitation and click the Get Started button within the email.

3. If you have a Microsoft account, you will be asked to Review permissions.  Associated Microsoft accounts can be found by clicking here.   (If you do not have a Microsoft account, continue with Step 7 - Creating a Microsoft Account.)

4. Click the Accept button to continue. 

5. Select Yes to stay signed in.

6. Click the myConnect link on the UAConnect login page to log in.

7. Once the Get Started button is clicked, a message to create a Microsoft account will appear on your screen. Click the Next button to continue.

8. Click the Next button to Create a password.

9. Enter a password and click the Next button to continue.

10. An authorization code will be sent to the email account used for Parent Center access.

11. Enter the code from the email, un-check the box to deselect the Send me promotional emails if that is your preference.

12. Click the Next button to continue.

13. Enter the letters and/or numbers as they appear on the screen and click the Next button.

14. Verify information is correct. Click the Looks good! button to continue or Update now to make changes.

Making A Payment 

1. Log in to UAConnect and click the UA Parent Homepage tile.

2. Click the Treasurer's Office link.

3. If multiple students, click the checkbox of the student you wish to make a payment for.

4. Click the Select Student button.

5. Click Make a Payment.

6. If access has not been granted through UAConnect, you can log in directly to the eCommerce Payment System at https://commerce.cashnet.com/uarkpay

7.  Enter your eCommerce Payment System User ID and Password.

8. From the eCommerce home page scroll to Your Account.

9. Click the Pay link of the term you wish to pay. If no balance is due, there is no visible Pay link. If you wish to pay the total amount due, click the Total Balance Due button. All terms with a balance due are included in the Total Amount.

10.  If you wish to pay the total amount due, click the Total Balance Due button. All terms with a balance due are included in the Total Amount. Click the Delete link to pay only on a specific term. A pop-up asks you to confirm the deletion of other term amounts due. Note: this does not remove the charge from your account.

11. Click OK or Cancel.

12. Click the Edit link to pay a partial payment.

    • Clear the Amount field and type in the payment amount.
    • Click the Update Payment Amount button. The new amount now displays in the Total Amounts field.

13. Click Continue.

 

To pay by Credit Card or Electronic Check

1. Click the Enter new credit card information or the Enter new electronic check information radio button. What are my routing and account numbers?

2. Complete all the required fields on this page. You may assign a name for this payment method and use for a future transaction.

3. Click the Continue Checkout button.

 For Credit Card payments, you will have a page to review the information and acknowledge the service charge fee before submitting your payment.

4. Confirm information and click on Submit Payment.

5. You will see a Transaction Approved screen when the payment is approved. An email receipt will be sent to the email address provided. You may click the Email Receipt button for an additional copy to be sent to another email address. Or, click the View Printable Receipt button to print your receipt.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, commonly known as FERPA, is a federal law designed to protect the privacy of student education records. With few exceptions, all student education records are considered confidential and may not be released without written consent of the student. This protection for college education records begins when the student enrolls in a higher education institution, regardless of the student’s age.

3. If you have more than one student who has authorized you to view their account, select the student from the list by clicking the Select Student button.

4. Click on the Treasurer's Office link in the left-hand navigation.

5. Click on View 1098-T.

6. Click on the specific Tax Year to display the 1098-T form for that year.

7. Click on the Box Amount tab to display detailed box information.

NOTE: You may need to disable the pop-up blocker on your web browser to display the 1098-T form.

Viewing Grades 

1. Click on the Academic Records drop down. Select Grades to view.

2. The Grades page opens and displays the grades from the most current term.

3.  To select a different term, click the Change Term button.

4.  Click the radio button of the term you wish to view.

5.  Click Continue.

6.  Official grades are displayed on this page. However, if grades do not appear on this page, it may be that the term is not yet over or your student was not enrolled for this term.

Term Statistics are found at the bottom of this page and display academic information used in calculating your student's grade point average.

 

Viewing Class Schedule

1. Click on the Academic Records drop down. Select Class Schedule to view.

2. If more than one term is available to view, you will be asked to select a term. Only the current and future terms are available to view. Click the radio button of the term you wish to view.

3. Click Continue.

4. Click on the Financial Aid link in the left-hand navigation.

5. Click the Financial Aid Summary link to view your student's financial aid information. (To view a different year, click the Change button in the top left screen. Click on the Federal Aid Year you wish to view.)  The Financial Aid Summary page opens for the Federal Aid Year you selected. To view specific terms of the year use the Display drop down to select the Fall, Spring, or Summer (if applicable) Summary. Federal Aid Year contains the award description, category of aid, the amount offered and accepted.

6. Click the Financial Aid To-Do's to list any outstanding form or action required by the student for financial aid processing.

7. Click the Loan Information to link to the Loan Processing Information website. Directions and other information for Direct loans, including Subsidized, Unsubsidized and PLUS loans, can be found at this site.

8. Click the Path to Success for information regarding eligibility and other student related activities to be verified by the student.

Information found on these pages is considered Directory Information and is available to release unless the student directs that the information be restricted.

4. Click on the Personal Information link in the left-hand navigation.

5. Click Contact Details to view email addresses and phone numbers.

6. Click Addresses to view all current address types.
